多倫多警方表示，周日他們已逮捕壹名14歲的男孩，他涉嫌在壹起看似無端的致命刺殺案中殺害了壹名71歲女子。
警方在周伍下午宣布，他們正在通緝這名14歲少年，他涉嫌於前壹天犯下贰級謀殺罪，受害者為71歲的Shahnaz Pestonji。

事件發生在周肆早上9:30之後，警方接到報警稱壹名婦女在Parkway Forest Drive與Sheppard Avenue East壹帶遭人刺傷。
警方趕到現場時，這名婦女已無生命反應，急救人員嘗試進行搶救。她隨後被救護車緊急送醫，但最終不治身亡。
凶殺案偵探Matthew Pinfold在周伍表示，警方調查初步認為該事件可能是壹場“搶劫失敗後演變成的致命襲擊”。
警方隨即緊急發布通緝令，稱其“極度危險”，提醒公眾遠離並立即報警！然而，人還沒抓到，嫌犯卻頻繁出現在網絡上連麥直播、甩鍋洗白、曬傷口“炫耀”！

周日，警方宣布他們已經在多倫多逮捕了這名嫌疑人，此次逮捕是“多個警隊單位協調合作的結果”。
該名少年被控贰級謀殺罪，將於7月21日（周壹）上午10點出庭受審。
警方起初獲准根據壹項罕見的司法豁免，公布了這名14歲嫌疑人的身份，因為加拿大法律通常禁止公開涉案未成年人的姓名。不過，隨著嫌疑人被正式逮捕，該豁免已失效，其身份信息必須從公眾領域刪除。
