英王查理斯叁世（King Charles III）和王後卡米拉（Queen Camilla）下周壹（27日）對美國進行國事訪問，紀念美國獨立250周年。距離國訪僅3天，華府在白宮周邊懸掛約230面旗，惟當中壹度有15面澳洲國旗“亂入”，引起網民熱議。
據報道，華府24日升起逾200面英國及美國國旗，但在白宮及其旁邊的艾森豪威爾行政辦公大樓（Eisenhower Executive）附近壹條道路上，15面澳洲國旗整齊的掛在路邊的黑色路燈燈柱上。

照片被上傳至社交平台後引發網民嘲諷。
壹位X用戶借此諷刺美國小布殊（George W. Bush）政府時期推行的教育改革：“我怪小布殊和不讓壹個孩子落後（法案）”，暗示國家教育改革的失敗讓美國人連基本常識都缺乏。另壹位網民就評論“他們連花15秒去Google壹下『英國國旗』都懶得做嗎？”
還有澳洲網民表示：“他們應該繼續掛著澳洲國旗，查理斯在憲法上是我們的國家元首。”
華盛頓交通部官員後回應路透社，澳洲國旗很快已被移除。
