Last weekend, NEXT –the VEX IQ Challenge Middle School team from Robokids in Richmond, BC – took home the coveted Teamwork Champion Alliance trophy for the 2014 VEX Robotics World Championship Middle School Division, in Anaheim, CA.
Between April 23-26, the Anaheim Convention Center was taken over by more than 15,000 participants from 27 countries, as 760 of the world’s best student-run robotics teams demonstrated their Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) skills, going head to head with custom-built and programmed robots at the VEX Robotics World Championship, presented by the Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation and the Northrop Grumman Foundation. VEX participants were supported and cheered on by Chevron, EMC Corporation, HEXBUG, Microchip, NASA, Northrop Grumman Foundation, and Texas Instruments, who are always on the lookout for new talent.
