伊利諾州內珀維爾市（Naperville）壹名中國公民申請入籍美國時，涉嫌隱瞞過去曾加入中國共產黨以及與中國情報部門的關系，被聯邦當局控以非法獲得公民身分罪。
起訴書顯示，男被告林陸（LuLin，音譯）在2005年申請入籍美國，並在接受2次面試後於2008年歸化成為美國公民，在同年9月於芝加哥進行宣誓。
現年58歲的林陸14日被芝加哥聯邦法庭裁定起訴，將在21日出庭受審。起訴書指出，林陸在申請入籍美國時提供虛假資料，謊稱從沒加入中國共產黨和使用其他名字。
CHICAGO, IL — A Naperville man was charged in a federal indictmentreturned Thursday with obtaining citizenship or naturalizationunlawfully, according to a press release from the FBI.
Lu Lin, 58, of the 4200 block of Colton Circle in Naperville, wasindicted Thursday on one count of obtaining citizenship ornaturalization unlawfully, the release stated. Lin is scheduled tobe arraigned on Jan. 21 at 9:30 a.m. in front of U.S. DistrictJudge Edmund E. Chang.
According to the indictment, Lin, a Chinese citizen who became anaturalized United States citizen, reported on his application fornaturalization he had never used any other names and had never beena member of or in any way associated with the Communist Party. Lin,however, had received an identification document containing hisphotograph but with the name Yung Yeung, the identity of whichbelonged to China’s Ministry of Public Security. Additionally, Linwas a member of the Chinese Communist Party from 1987 to 1997.
Lin allegedly used the Ministry of Public Security identity toenter Hong Kong and obtain information which Lin provided to theMinistry of State Security. The Ministry of Public Security isChina’s law enforcement agency and the national police force. TheMinistry of State Security is China’s intelligence agencyresponsible for counter-intelligence, foreign intelligence, andpolitical security.
