今年4月，他希望继续推动政策变更，以免其他人陷入类似困境。他建议，不要采用目前要求BC省民自愿签署成为捐助者的现行制度，可能改变为BC省默认制度。相反，那些不想捐赠的人也可以在之后选择退出。
BCC省卫生厅长表示，会观察新斯科舍省实施退出机制的情况，目前的计划主要进行对省民进行捐肾的教育计划。
