據指出，OceanGate 所用的潛艇壹般可搭載5人，通常包括1名駕駛員、3名付費乘客及1名解說員，但暫時未清楚艇上確實人數。今次是該公司今年來第5次同類觀光旅程，由上周開始，預計周肆結束，乘客需每人支付25萬美元。
