美大選投票日將近，民主黨副總統候選人華茲（Tim Walz）近日被爆料，在廣東省佛山教書期間，曾與壹名中共官員的女兒有壹段轟轟烈烈的戀情，甚至讓對方瀕臨輕生。
《紐約郵報》報導，現年59歲的王珍娜（Jenna Wang，音譯）周壹接受電話采訪時透露，她當年瘋狂愛上了華茲，當時他還是佛山的壹名年輕高中英語教師。王珍娜原本期待，這段熱戀最後會以求婚收場，但結果卻是分手，這令她壹度萌生輕生的念頭。
王珍娜指出，她與華茲1989年在中國廣東省佛山相識，當時的華茲還是位年輕的英語老師，透過非營利組織“世界教學”（WorldTeach）到大陸任教，而王珍娜則在附近的壹所中學任職。兩人迅速墜入愛河，關系如夫妻般親密，經常在沒有她父親監視的情況下牽手、共飲茶水。
她的父親當時是桂林市工會主席，也是共產黨官員。然而，這段關系在未能步入婚姻殿堂後戛然而止，並壹度令王珍娜情緒崩潰。
