1艘墨西哥海軍風帆訓練艦在紐約巡回宣傳期間，疑似失去動力，意外撞上布魯克林大橋，3根桅杆斷裂，許多船員懸掛在半空中，造成至少2人死亡、19人受傷。
綜合外媒報導，這艘載277人墨西哥海軍訓練艦“誇烏特莫克號”（Cuauhtémoc）當地時間17日晚間航行於紐約東河時，疑似失去動力，船只失控撞上布魯克林大橋，桅杆頂部撞橋，3根桅杆應聲折斷，當時桅杆上有許多船員，有人因此從高空中掉落在甲板上，還有更多人懸掛在半空中，造成至少2人死亡、19人受傷，其中2人傷勢嚴重。
“誇烏特莫克號”在東河航行時，許多民眾在岸邊觀看拍攝，多個撞橋瞬間視頻在網絡上瘋傳，船只在撞橋後失控漂向河邊，在岸邊觀看的民眾嚇壞紛紛逃離。
“誇烏特莫克號”每年都會在海軍軍事學校課程結束後進行訓練巡航，今年4月6日從墨西哥啟航，原計劃訪問15個國家的22個港口，墨西哥海軍在社群平台發文稱，訓練船與布魯克林大橋發生事故時受損，導致其無法繼續航行。
