直擊驚悚瞬間！游客：“巨大的露營車追著我跑”
《每日郵報》與澳洲媒體報導，這場災難發生在當地時間22日上午。當時正在附近溫泉池游泳的澳洲游客桑尼（Sonny Worrall）回憶起生死壹瞬間，仍余悸猶存。
“我當時聽到樹木斷裂的爆裂聲，轉頭壹看，巨大的土石流正朝我沖過來！”桑尼驚恐地描述，“我立刻跳出池子拔腿狂奔，回頭看時，壹輛被沖下來的巨大露營車就緊跟在我身後，只差幾米就要撞上我，這簡直是人生最恐怖的時刻。”

這場災難中最令人鼻酸的故事，發生在壹棟被完全摧毀的廁所與淋浴間建築。壹名幸存者含淚向《紐西蘭先驅報》透露，有壹位被受困在廁所廢墟中的女子是大家的救命恩人。“她今天是英雄，早上5點她就跑遍營區，把大家從床上叫醒，警告我們有危險快撤離……結果現在大家都出來了，只有她還沒出來。”
