當地時間16日晚，伊朗(专题)伊斯蘭革命衛隊在“真實承諾-4”行動第42號聲明中表示，數小時前，伊朗革命衛隊海軍通過導彈與無人機協同作戰，使用載有高爆彈頭的巡航導彈襲擊了位於美軍謝赫艾薩空軍基地和宰夫拉空軍基地內的多處戰斗機據點。
伊朗革命衛隊海軍強調，此類打擊將壹直持續，直到美軍基地完全撤離並被摧毀。
聲明稱，宰夫拉空軍基地近日成為美軍襲擊伊朗島嶼的源頭，遭受此次打擊後，該基地作戰能力已大幅下降，此類打擊行動還將持續下去。據現場報告，謝赫艾薩空軍基地的維修與後勤機庫遭導彈襲擊後升起濃煙。
