美國壹列從加州洛杉磯開往伊利諾州芝加哥的國家鐵路客運公司（Amtrak，又稱美鐵）客運列車，周壹（6/27）在密蘇裡州的壹個偏遠農村地區撞上壹輛卡車後出軌，造成至少3人死亡、50人受傷。
美國廣播公司（ABC）報導，這列西南酋長號（Southwest Chief）客運列車上載著243名乘客和12名機組員。事故發生在當地時間12時42分，列車在密蘇裡州西部門登市（Mendon）的壹處路口撞上壹輛傾卸卡車。
密蘇裡州公路巡邏隊表示，共有7節車廂出軌。
