Icon的Vulcan機器列印系統機組輸出ICON專有的高強度混凝土「lavacrete」，在牆壁結構硬化。目前已完成叁分之壹以上的新社區列印工作。
2021年ICON宣布這項計劃時，ICON共同創辦人兼執行長巴勒德(Jason Ballard)將這壹社區形容為社區規模發展史上的分水嶺時刻，他表示3D列印能更迅速地建造高品質住宅，而且比傳統建築方法更便宜。
美國正面臨約500萬套新房的短缺，巴勒德稱3D列印技術的優勢，包括能迅速增加供應，且不犧牲品質、外觀或永續性。
Bjarke Ingels Group合伙人沃克(Martin Voelkle)表示，3D列印建築是降低建築過程浪費的重要壹步，同時讓住宅更具適應性、永續性且能源自給自足。
獨立研究顯示，3D列印屋可以減少贰氧化碳排放及建築浪費，在沒有模板的情況下建造房屋，可大量減少總體建材使用。水泥每年占全球贰氧化碳排放量的8%左右。

壹項2020年的新加坡研究顯示，3D列印建造的壹套浴室比傳統方法建造的浴室便宜25.4%，產生的贰氧化碳減少近86%。
在3D列印的Genesis Collection社區裡，買家可挑選八種不同的建築平面，面積范圍介於1574至2112平方尺，包括叁間臥室、肆間臥室設計。
第壹個完工的住宅是Rune款式，有壹個帶有大面積懸挑的肆面坡屋頂(hip roof)，以及壹個前入口車庫，房屋內部有多個3D列印部件，如廚房中島。
