法國總統馬克龍稍早劃出紅線，壹旦俄軍將前線向敖德薩或基輔推進，“可能引發法國的幹預”。
法國媒體《獨立報》（L'Independant）報導，馬克龍在當地時間７日會見各黨領袖，重新定義針對烏克蘭的支持路線。馬克龍重申他在2月26日的表態，有意派法軍前往烏克蘭前線。
